Marie supports the Trust in our finance workstream. She began her career in product development and packaging within the M&S Food buying teams, where she spent 13 years working across complex projects and crossfunctional groups. After choosing to take redundancy to focus on her young children, she used this period to retrain and transition into a new professional path.

Already managing the accounts for her family business, Marie pursued formal bookkeeping training with the ICB and worked towards full accreditation. Once partqualified, she joined a local charity in a bookkeeping role, applying her developing skills in a practical environment and supporting the organisation’s financial operations. She later progressed into broader positions, including finance management and payroll.

Marie has since worked in several accountancy practices, gaining extensive experience across a wide range of industries and software platforms. She has collaborated with diverse teams and clients, learning something valuable from every environment and colleague she has worked alongside. Throughout her career, Marie has developed a clear sense of where her strengths lie: helping people, simplifying processes, and building systems that make financial management clearer, smoother, and more supportive for others.
