Head of humanities at The Gateway Academy, Huw Breese, has raised more than £1,800 for Ormiston Families, largely due to the work of his students.
On Sunday he competed in the London Marathon, a whopping 26.2-mile charity fundraiser.
To raise donations Huw’s pupils organised a World Food day at The Gateway Academy, where they tried various foods from all over the world. They also organised; a football match, cake sales, a sponsored five-mile walk and successfully completed the Test Track 10-mile run in Essex, while the staff had a quiz night with a raffle, raising hundreds of pounds.
