Ormiston Families has announced its speaker for its annual lecture in November, Charlie Taylor, HM Chief Inspector of Prisons who is working to transform Britain’s prisons.
In his previous role, Charlie Taylor worked to make an impact on the lives of excluded students and disadvantaged boys. He led the 2015 review into the youth justice system and worked with the Department of Education to improve schools’ abilities to support their most disadvantaged pupils.
In his current role, he reports directly to the Secretary of State and relevant ministers on the treatment of UK prisoners and the conditions they reside in.
The event will be a great opportunity to listen to a pioneer in prison welfare and improvement. It will be held on 21 November 2022 at Murray Edwards College in Cambridge. Tickets are £25 and can be purchased on the Ormiston Families Website.
