The school has a comprehensive approach in place for careers guidance, including close partnerships with local employers that connect students with careers and employers in their local community. This approach led to the school being awarded the prestigious “Quality in Careers Standards” award.
Ms Acland-Hood could see the impact of the career guidance approach, as students shared their career goals with her and discussed how the school helped them explore different career options.
On her visit, Ms Acland-Hood said: “Good careers education helps young people dream big, but also to see the practical path to realise their dreams. It was excellent to visit Cowes Enterprise College and see how their brilliant careers education uses businesses and employers to inspire, and a strong, knowledge-rich curriculum to build real paths to excellence – hand in hand”.
