The ‘Musical Meadows’ project has several strands to improve access to music for all pupils at the academy and the wider community. The Academy has established several choirs to allow access to high-quality music tuition and performance opportunities – a KS1 boys choir, continuation of KS2 choir, a community choir involving staff, parents, a local residential home and nearby residential housing area. Students have also engaged in fundraising activities for ‘Nordoff Robbins’ a music therapy charity. The project is providing high-quality musical tuition for all pupils in the Academy, their parents and their grandparents, and the local residential home for the over 55s. ‘Musical Meadows’ has also been the catalyst in establishing a pre-school music group for babies & toddlers in the community.
